Two month recap

Yes, once again I realize I pretty much suck at keeping up with the posts. Everyday I tell myself to get going and get some pictures posted, but then I think about the pain it is to try to get the pictures downloaded and the thought quickly passes. Someday we will finally ditch this dial up internet and jump into the real world of technology, but until that day, I am not going to kid myself anymore. I will try to post some pictures and stories once a month.

So for the last two months we have had a lot of things happening. Since Connor is now 3, he got to experience his first trip to the dentist. Ben got to take him, and he was a trooper. You never know how he is going to act when we go places. Sometimes he is a little angel and sometimes, well, not so much. But Ben did a great job of preparing him for the dentist and telling him all the things that the dentist was going to do. He sat on Ben's lap for the exam and did a great job. When he was done he got a balloon, a toy and a new toothbrush. He was so excited when he got home, he had so many stories to tell, it was too cute.

Then on October 27th, we got a new addtition to the Brown family, Ben's brother Dane, and his girlfriend Sarah got married. They got married at the St. Croix County Courthouse, and were married by the same guy that married Ben and I:) That day we also found out that Dane and Sarah are having a baby GIRL, due March 4th.
Since Ben and I were married at the courthouse, we decided to take our pictures in the same spots that we had them taken the day we were married....This time Connor got to make a real appearance in the photos:)
Ben and I August 19th, 2005 (Outside the Courthouse)
Ben Connor and I October 27th,2008
Ben and I August 19th, 2005 (inside)
Ben Connor and I October 27th, 2008 (For this picture I made Ben take his sweater off so that we could be wearing the same colors as we did the first time:) He thought it was pretty stupid, But I thought it was a good idea)

On Halloween night, we had a 50th birthday party for my mom and dad at their house. Lots of food and drinks always makes for a good night. Ben and I decided to dress up as Dog the Bounty Hunter and his wife Beth. Ben did a great job of playing the part.

Connor had a hard decision in figuring out what he wanted to be for halloween. It changed everyday, and everytime we went to look at costumes he would find something new he wanted to be. So I decided to wait until the week before halloween to get his costume. The whole week before he was telling everyone he was going to be Cowboy Connor. So I went out and got some cowboy gear for him. He loved being cowboy connor and was saying yeehaw the whole night. He is still

Rooney

We had a great labor day weekend up at Rooney Lake (Ben's aunt and uncle have a cabin on the lake.) Connor and I left Thursday evening and met Jed and Sandy at the cabin. The next morning we made a pinata, made homemade ice cream, went swimming, and got ready for everyone else to make there way to the cabin.

A picture of Grandma Sandy and Connor making ice cream.

And tasting the ice cream. It is really good!

Friday night we celebrated Connor's birthday and had angel food cake and our homemade ice cream. Connor was waiting all day to eat the cake, we had to keep moving it because he kept trying to get his fingers in it.
Most of Saturday was spent in the water. It was the perfect weekend, the weather was great, the water was warm, and Connor couldn't get enough of swimming.

Usually when you make a pinata it takes 3-4 days for it to dry. So we were a little worried that we wouldn't be able to break it open this weekend, but since the weather was so hot, we hung it outside to dry and by Saturday night it was ready to go. All the little kids got a swing at it and when it finally broke open the kids flew to the candy.

Notice in this picture what Connor seems to think is his favorite kind of candy..... He went right to the boxes of DOTS. I don't think he has even had them before, but he picked up every single box of them. It was too funny. Then he only ate one box of dots and the rest of the weekend he wanted the suckers. So I'm not sure why he thought he wanted the d0ts.

Connor and Daddy

Connor and Mommy

Connor found this helmet in the garage and wore it around and said he was the space captain.

Connor and McKenna sitting in the containers we use to bring the food down to the lake.

Check out their expressions, they both have the same look on their face, and it is the same look I see when they are watching TV and not listening to me when I am trying to tell them something.

We also got to take the paddle boat out on the lake. Connor loved sitting in the middle of us and telling us which way to go.

The most exciting part of the weekend was when we took Connor on the tube behind the boat. He laughed the whole time and kept yelling "Yeehaw." I thought they were going to fall off a few times because we were going a lot faster than I had expected. But they stayed on and Connor loved every minute of it.

Of course we had to make some time to do a little fishing. Ben caught this 20" bass right off the dock. He was swimming under the dock for an hour and Ben tried all different bates until he finally caught it. They were pretty proud.

Connor found this baby snapping turtle and had to release him to the water.

Connor and Aunt Barb going for a walk.

The whole family. (or who was there on Friday night)

And my favorite picture of the weekend :)

Thanks again Barb and Steve

I Feel Naked!

Alright, for those of you who haven't heard, I finally chopped my hair off. I donated 12 inches to Locks for Love. I've been saying for about a year now that I was going to chop it off, but didn't have the courage to do it until now. At the begining of the summer I gave myself a deadline to have it cut off by September, and I just barely got it in. I cut it off August 28th. I thought I was going to cry and be nervous, but I honestly didn't care. I had been talking about it for so long, that it was kinda nice to just do it. And I have to thank Jodi for helping. She did a great job of cutting it, and making me feel comfortable. I have to say now that I really do love it. However I have to learn how to do things all over again. Taking a shower, I don't need half the shampoo and conditioner I once used, but evertime, I still gob way too much in my hair. I haven't slept with my hair down in about 2 years now, I used to have to braid it everynight so it wasn't a rats nest in the morning and so it wasn't in my face at night. Now I just go to bed with it down, so weird. Anyways, I've been asked to post pictures, and I don't have any good ones, so Imade Connor take pictures with me as he was watching Dora, so I couldn't get him to smile, and you can't really tell what the hair looks like, but it was my best try for now.

Birthday Boy

So my baby boy truly is not a baby anymore. He is now 3 years old and full of character. I can't believe he is 3 already, time really does fly by. If we are ever in the need of a good laugh, all we have to do is turn the music on and watch him do his "cool moves". He is a dancing fool. Our favorite show during the summer is So You Think You Can Dance, and he loves to watch it with us. This is where he learns all his newest moves. Everyday he is showing me a new "cool move" that he has learned. It truly is amazing. His other favorite things to do is play baseball, and ride his bike. And he can be just the sweetest little boy (when he wants to), and out of nowhere he will say, "Mom, I love you so much," in his sweet little voice. We couldn't imagine our lives without him and we are so thankful to have such a beautiful boy in our lives. (He would tell me he is handsome though. He always tells me, "mom you are a princess and I am handsome."...so cute!) So last Saturday, the 23rd, we had a birthday party with the family at our house, and Connor loved all his presents. He was in such a hurry to open them all, I don't think he even stopped to see what he opened until he was all done. Then he played all night with them. Once it got dark out we started a bonfire and the 3 of us layed outside in sleeping bags watching the stars, and making wishes on the shooting stars. The boys eventually fell asleep outside and I had to wake them up because it was getting to cold. It was a perfect night. Here is a few pics of Connor opening his presents.

Connor's actual birthday was last monday, so Connor and I, and my aunt and her son Andrew, took the boys to the State Fair for the day. (Ben had been working there all summer long, building the International Bazaar, so he had free tickets to get in, good deal. And if you went to the fair and remember seeing the International Bazaar, let Ben know, he would be really happy.) Connor ate way more food than I and seemed to really enjoy himself. He tried the chocolate covered bacon, french fries, chocolate ice cream cone, mini doughnuts, a pickle on a stick, and probably a few other things I can't remember right now. The boys were really bugging us to go on some rides so I did take them both on the ferris wheel, and then we also went down the giant slide, which they both absolutly loved. It was so cute, when we got done they both looked at me and said "Can I go again?" So I told them that everyone only gets to go 1 time since there are so many people, it kinda worked. By 2:00 they were getting tired, we had seen and eatin everything we wanted to and it was time to go home. We did the park and ride so we took the bus back to our car and the boys had some fun sitting next to each other on the bus. They were so over tired they were acting just goofy. We got home later that night and Connor opened his presents and we had some cake and ice cream, and Connor had another great birthday. Thanks to everyone who came over, and thanks for all the presents as well. We are very thankful to have you all in our lives.

Stop the harrassment!

Alright, for those of you who have been on my case to update my blog, get off my back. Just kidding, but I finally got to it. I have had these next few posts created but not finished and I just needed to take the time to sit down and do it. August was my last month of work and I was just swamped with things to finish before my last day which was last Thursday. So I hope these few posts will hold you over for a little while. Enjoy and I hope you all had a great weekend. Tomorrow is Connor's birthday, so hopefully I will get some pictures of his party and special day tomorrow and add them before the busy weekend comes.

Connor's Friend

Connor just loves my cousin Andrew. This summer they have been able to spend a lot of time together. Andrew's mom and I both didn't work on Mondays, so we usually went swimming together. And the boys just love to go swimming. The first 3 pictures are at my house when Andrew came over to visit for the afternoon. They decided to hitch up the wheel barrow to the power wheels jeep and pull each other around the yard. Then they went swimming in our kiddie pool in their undies, which they thought was pretty silly, but they had a blast.

These last couple are when we went swimming at my aunt's house, they pretty much think they are the cutest boys in the world. And I would have to agree, I think they are!

Softball

Here are some pictures of Ben playing softball. The one of Connor is when he was trying to be the third base coach and tell them to stop, stay there!
